One of our missions as a new business is to make sure we give back and contribute to things that really matter. We know that giving at any amount contributes to making a positive change in the world, and we want to be a part of that. If we can help to save even just one heart, one person, or make their lives, and their families lives better, our mission will be a success. As a mom and pediatric emergency room nurse, she has a big heart for babies and children. She knows the devastating affects that congenital disease can have on patients and families. Meghan has close ties to the Save A Heart Foundation. Her Mother and Father in law play an important role in supporting the foundation and have for many years. They have also dedicated their lives to diagnosing, caring for and treating infants and children with congenital heart disease.
Nearly 1 in 110 babies are born with congenital heart disease, making it the No. 1 birth defect in the nation. Congenital heart disease causes nearly one-third of the infant deaths that result from birth defects. And it’s a diagnosis that requires lifelong care. The Congenital Heart Center at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, is one of the largest and most experienced pediatric heart programs in the U.S. It is also an international referral center for kids with complex congenital heart disease. The mission of Save a Heart is to provide assistance and social services to patients and families dealing with congenital heart disease. In addition funds from Save a Heart support new and innovative treatment and technology that directly impacts patients and families.
